FOUNDING PRINCIPAL
Steven Baeteman has spent over 25 years designing residential and hospitality spaces, trained in Interior Architecture and Fine Arts in Belgium. He carries the Flemish design sensibility in his bones — material honesty, spatial restraint, beauty that doesn't announce itself.
Transplanted to Vietnam, that sensibility found its counterpart. Tropical light, raw abundance, a culture with its own rich visual language. The collision between these two worlds became his signature: spaces that are precise without being cold, minimal without being empty. Always tailor-made. Always unmistakably his clients' own.
A COHESIVE EXPERIENCE
Belgian design is built on one conviction: true luxury lives in restraint. Raw stone, aged linen, light held in silence. A quiet, sensorial language — intimate, precise, and deeply human.
Vietnam is its opposite — and its perfect counterpart. A country of abundance and beautiful contradiction. The chaos of its streets gives way to landscapes of breathtaking stillness: mist-wrapped peaks, rivers like silk at dawn, gardens dense with tropical life. The tension between these two forces shapes everything we design.
Steven Baeteman Studio was founded in Ho Chi Minh City in 2018 to explore exactly that collision. Flemish restraint meeting tropical abundance. Twelve professionals. One singular vision.
